Saure in Gevelsberg

We read so many good reviews that we went there to celebrate a special day. It was disappointing in so many aspects and ways that if the food tasted good or not at the end was irrelevant because the whole experience was bad. It was a Monday, not busy, but we had reservations for 19h30. We got on time but after being seated we waited 15 minutes until someone came to give us the menu. Then 10 more minutes to take the orders. We waited for 1 hour more until the orders came. There were only 3 other tables with clients, so we couldn't understand why would it take so long, and nobody also came to say that there was a problem or so... We were about to leave at 21h when the dishes were served. We were sitting outside and it got dark. There was no lights... We could really not see what was on the plate! We used the flashlights from our phones to see a bit. The service was a disaster: a girl dressed in some clothes that would go well doing sports or as pajamas, but not at a restaurant. She spoke really loud when bringing the dishes to each table, and didn't look at customers to check if they need something. We finished and asked for the bill but it never came! We went after the girl and she was sitting playing with the cellphone. Definitely we paid a high price to lose the nerves.

I've known the restaurant for almost 40 years. The change to a restaurant that takes its old regulars with it has been a perfect success. Great food. The boss often cooks himself and has fun too. Sometimes you have to wait a little longer; but is also a small kitchen. :)

Friendly condition and good food.

One of the oldest houses in the old village center. Formerly a post office to change horses, today a rustic restaurant with selected internal cuisine. Selected beers and whiskeys. A bit more expensive, but the performance ratio is also ok.

Great food

Very good cuisine, cozy atmosphere. But you have to be patient, the service seemed a little understaffed. Maybe it was because of the old virus.

The people in the kitchen know exactly what they're doing. Highly recommended.

It was well attended. The food is great. However, it took a while until you could order drinks again and then they came ... but otherwise very nice

As the fight against system catering is getting tougher and harder, I find it all the more important and, above all, nicer that people like Saure's, by their own thoughts, hold up the banner of real cuisine. Here, among other things, the sauces are still homemade and the customer is not queen or king, but it is met at eye level. So let the verbal make-up at home, because here is authentic togetherness as well as the food. Everyone likes to pay for real food, real taste and real ideas. In addition, it should be mentioned that this is a craft, which now exists for over 4 decades, because not without reason, acid is also referred to as institutions of some. Was awesome .... huge selection of drinks, great and creative food, which are close to the star kitchen. And whoever claims that it would take forever for the food to be served will teach you better ... it has not been that way for a long time. Pub and top restaurant in one you have to get along so well. Thanks a lot and see you soon ...

Excellent food and the best ambience that you will find in Gevelsberg. Very friendly staff and a good selection of drinks. Only a certain waiting time for the food should be taken into account.
